Feature Documentary Award Jury

LAUREN CIOFFI is a multifaceted creative producer and documentary film programmer working in Los Angeles. She was selected to be on the Feature Documentary Programming Team at the Sundance Film Festival in 2015, curating and discovering US and International documentaries. She also aids in selecting new projects in development for the Sundance Documentary Fund. She has been a film Programming Consultant at Outfest Film Festival for the last 4 years. She is excited about documentaries that push the boundaries of the form and highlight underrepresented voices. In addition to programming, she enjoys producing original nonfiction content with emerging directors.

ANGIE DRISCOLL brings enthusiasm, passion and over 15 years of film programming experience to her work at a variety of festivals all over the world. She has programmed films in Canada for the Toronto International Film Festival, the CFC’s Worldwide Short Film Festival, Hot Docs Canadian International Documentary Festival, and Toronto Urban Film Festival, in the United States for Aspen Shortsfest and the Sundance Film Festival, and in Sweden for Nordisk Panorama. She has been a consultant for Reel Canada, the Prism Prize and the Atlantic Filmmakers’ Co-Op, as well as a curator for pioneering internet and mobile TV-platform Babelgum. She is currently the Senior Shorts and Senior International Programmer at Hot Docs in Toronto, a Shorts Programmer at Shortsfest in Aspen, and sits on the Board of Directors for the historic Regent Theatre in Picton.

SHORT FILM & ATLANTIC FILMMAKER JURY

HARRISON BENDER  is a film programmer and marketer. He is currently a programmer at the Sarasota Film Festival, and has worked previously for organizations such as SnagFilms, Kino Lorber, and Doc NYC.

LISA GILES is the producer of the Richmond (VA, USA) 48 Hour Film Project, an international film competition that takes place in over 135 cities around the world. She also produces the Richmond 48 Hour Horror Film Project. Giles has been a juror for numerous film festivals including HP 48Hours (New Zealand), the Knoxville (TN) Film Festival, the Scruffy City Film & Music Festival (Knoxville), the Richmond International Film Festival, and the American Youth Film Festival (Atlanta, GA). She has been an acting coach and talent manager, and has also produced commercials that have aired in the Richmond market. She is an active member of the Virginia Production Alliance and has served three terms on its Executive Board of Trustees. She is also founder and former producer of the Virginia High School League Film Festival, Virginia’s state championship in film, which supports the next generation of filmmakers.

BRENNAN TILLEY joined the Calgary Underground Film Festival as a Programmer in 2008. He assumed his current dual role as Lead Programmer and Operations Manager in 2012 . A documentary festival offshoot called CUFF.Docs was launched in 2013. Brennan became involved with the Calgary International Film Festival in 2004. He was Operations Co-ordinator for the festival’s 2012 Doc Soup Series in partnership with Hot Docs and assumed the role of Shorts Programmer in 2015. In his tenure as Shorts Programmer, the festival has gained Academy Award qualifying status and experienced a surge in submissions and attendance by Canadian and international short filmmakers. Brennan recently completed a four year stint as President of the Calgary Cinematheque and chaired the Cinematheque’s Programming Committee for six seasons.
