Lunenburg Doc Fest will present a week-long youth summer camp from July 10-14 in Lunenburg. Participants will learn to create animation that will be presented at the 4th Annual Lunenburg Doc Fest in September. Up to 16 teens will explore Lunenburg through animation.

They will learn to create their own short films in groups and explore the stories of Lunenburg focusing on ships, fishing and the sea and their role in making Lunenburg what it is.

A  professional animator mentor will lead participants through hands-on introductions to the techniques and styles of clay, paper, Lego, whiteboard and pixelation methods.

The teens will create storyboards; craft the characters and props; script the dialogue or narration; build the sets and backgrounds; and then shoot the films. Each frame is shot individually, then the entire film is edited with titles, music and credits added to complete the process.

The films will premiere at The Festival to youth and the general audience. The completed films will also be posted on the Lunenburg Doc Fest YouTube channel.

Please note that spaces are limited and pre-registration is required. Spots are given out on a first come first serve basis.
