CLIFF: A PORTRAIT OF AN ARTIST
VIEWING REGION: Canada & USA
Cliff: A Portrait of an Artist is a portrait of one of Winnipeg’s most successful visual artists – Cliff Eyland. With months left to live, Eyland received a double lung transplant and five extra years of life. He called these extra years an ‘afterlife’. This film explores his art, life, and evolving beliefs as he looks head on at his own mortality. Zen, almost lackadaisical – Eyland seems to hold everything as valuable and nothing as precious.
