The Launch is a FREE event for the community. The selected individuals prepare throughout summer to pitch live before an industry jury and audience. The winner of will receive a $10,000 prize package including cash and in-kind filmmaking services, plus mentorship to support the making of a short documentary that will premiere at Doc Fest 2024.
While the jury deliberates you will be treated to the World Premiere of Anna Quon’s new short documentary, Me And My Teeth. The winner of the inaugural The Launch pitch contest in 2022, Anna will be on hand to share her film and take questions!
The audience votes too! The winner of the balloted ‘Audience Favourite’ will receive a special prize pack, and one voting audience member will win a prize pack including local treats plus a Film Pass to the 11th annual Lunenburg Doc Fest in 2024.
Please join us in showing support and cheering on emerging Atlantic filmmakers, as well as learn what it takes for filmmakers to pitch their films!
