save-the-date

Save the date! The third annual Lunenburg Doc Fest (LDF) celebrates the art of documentary September 22 – 25, 2016.

Lunenburg Doc Fest showcases documentary films that entertain, educate and inspire, creating a cultural experience and place of connection between filmmakers and film enthusiasts in the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Lunenburg, Nova Scotia. The Festival features fact-based cinematic stories from the Atlantic and across the globe, inviting us to see the world from different points of view.

Last year, LDF increased attendance by 50%, presented two Canadian Premieres, and screened three days of thought-provoking feature and short films curated from over 900 submissions from 97 countries. The Festival also presented a Filmmakers Panel, Brunch with the Filmmaker, a free Youth Documentary Workshop and inaugurated the annual LDF awards: Best Feature Documentary, Best Short Film, Best Atlantic Filmmaker (co-presented with DOC Atlantic) and a $1,000 Bursary to a student pursuing secondary film studies.

Building on an impressive event in 2015, The Festival adds a fourth day in September 2016 to expand and enhance the experience for film enthusiasts and filmmakers, locals and visitors alike. We hope you will join us for a stellar lineup of documentaries, interactive events, awards and celebrations that spotlight a captivating mix of Atlantic, International, Art, Family, Political, Environmental and Experimental films.
