Lunenburg Doc Fest is proud to announce documentary LOST & FOUND as an official selection for the second annual festival.

LOST & FOUND explores the unlikely friendships that were forged on opposite sides of the world, in the wake of a massive natural disaster.

March 11, 2011, Japan was hit by the largest earthquake in its recorded history. The ensuing tsunami engulfed over 90 cities killing over 18,000 people.

Millions of tons of debris was pulled into the Pacific and left floating out to sea.

One year later Japanese objects started washing ashore in North America and Beachcombers across the Pacific North West became determined to find the objects owners. Lost & Found follows the epic adventures of regular citizens who leave their small towns to travel to Japan in hopes to reunite people with some small piece of their past.

“It’s little miracles, like discovering that one small piece of your past survived, that provides hope.” Nicolina Lanni
