To further develop and enhance the festival experience for patrons, filmmakers and volunteers alike, we are expanding the Lunenburg Doc Fest team.

Lunenburg Doc Fest welcomes Walter Forsyth, an accomplished filmmaker and film festival supporter, who is a strong advocate of Lunenburg Doc Fest’s mission.

Walter brings a wealth of knowledge, expertise and passion to Lunenburg Doc Fest and will oversee The Festival’s publicity and join the existing development team.

Walter produces the web series/TV comedy hour, Everyone’s Famous, nominated for two Canadian Screen Awards and winner of a Canadian Comedy Award. He co-wrote and directed The Luckiest Most Unlucky Man in the World; directed the cine-poem, Walls; and is working on a documentary about why people run called Run for Your Life. In 2011, Walter was a Bell Media Fellow, won TIFF’s Pitch This, received a Sundance Doc Fund grant, and produced the award winning dramatic feature, The Disappeared. He produced How to Be Alone, which has been viewed over 6 million times on YouTube and directed the Scott Pilgrim music video that spawned the graphic novel series and feature film, Scott Pilgrim Versus the World. He founded the Halifax Independent Filmmakers Festival as Executive Director of The Atlantic Filmmakers Cooperative, co-founded the Canadian Surf Film Festival and sat on the board of directors at the Hot Docs International Documentary Film Festival for six years. He teaches film studies to share his knowledge gained from fifteen years as a writer, director and producer.
