Lunenburg Doc Fest (LDF) is now accepting submissions for its third annual event, September 22-25, 2016. The Festival showcases feature-length and short documentary films. Established and aspiring are encouraged to submit documentaries for consideration.

The Festival presents original and inspiring films from across the globe. There is a particular interest in documentaries that fall within one or more of the following categories:

  • Atlantic
  • International
  • Environmental
  • Political
  • Art
  • Youth/Family
  • Docudrama
  • Experimental

“The second annual Lunenburg Doc Fest garnered over 900 submissions from 97 countries, a fabulous delegation of visiting filmmakers, and 50% more attendance. This year the Festival is building on that momentum by adding a fourth day. This will further enhance the festival experience for film enthusiasts and filmmakers alike,” says Pamela Segger, LDF’s Executive Director. “We look forward to presenting a compelling lineup of evocative documentaries, interactive events, awards and celebrations that will spotlight a captivating mix of fact-based films from around the world.”

Deadlines to submit via Filmfreeway.com are as follows:

Early Bird Deadline — April 15, 2016
Regular Deadline — May 31, 2016
Final Deadline — July 15, 2016

Films selected for screening during Lunenburg Doc Fest will receive an honorarium. Award categories include the Best Feature Documentary, Atlantic Filmmaker Award and Short Film Award.
