Each year, Lunenburg Doc Fest proudly awards a $1000 Youth Bursary to a Nova Scotia student planning to attend post secondary film studies. The 2016 Bursary is now open to applicants who meet this criteria. Bursary applications can be downloaded HERE.

Lunenburg Doc Fest aims to champion an emerging filmmaker and promote artistic achievement by assisting the student with the opportunity to gain valuable training. In addition to the bursary, a Film Pass granting access to all feature documentary screenings September 23-25, 2016, will be awarded. The successful applicant will be announced following the Lunenburg Doc Fest Youth Program at the festival on Sunday, September 25.

The 2015 LDF Bursary was awarded to Madeline Toal:

I feel very honoured to have been awarded with the Lunenburg Doc Fest bursary this year, and to have had the opportunity to experience so many inspirational documentaries this weekend. I am very appreciative of the support that this festival provides to young filmmakers through their youth program and bursary, and I thank them again for their aid in pursuing a future in film. I am so grateful for the support the bursary provides, and I have really enjoyed the festival!
